  • Have a valid Indian passport.

  • Demonstrate ties to India (employment, property, family) to show intent to return.
  • Submit a completed application form, pay the application fee, and provide required supporting documents.

Application Process

  1. Prepare Documents:

    • Valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond the intended stay.
    • Recent passport-size photographs as per specifications.
    • Proof of financial support (e.g., bank statements, sponsorship letter).
    • Travel itinerary (if applicable).
    • Invitation letter (if visiting family or friends).
  2. Submit Application:

    • Complete the application form online via the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website or obtain a paper application from a Visa Application Centre (VAC).
    • Pay the application fee and biometric fee (if applicable).
    • Submit the application along with supporting documents to the nearest VAC or online through the IRCC portal.
  3. Biometrics:

    • Indian citizens aged 14 to 79 must provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) at a designated VAC.
  4. Processing Time:

    • Processing times vary and can range from a few weeks to several months, depending on the applicant’s country of residence.
    • Applicants are advised to apply well in advance of their intended travel date.
  5. Decision and Issuance:

    • If approved, applicants receive a letter of introduction or a Visitor Visa in their passport.
    • Travel to Canada and present the visa and supporting documents at the port of entry to be admitted as a temporary resident.

Renewal and Extensions

  • Visitor visas are typically issued for stays up to 6 months per entry.
